Austria

Austria has a wealth of cross country skiing resorts to explore.

Achensee

Achensee is the Tirol’s largest lake, and lies in the middle of the Karwendel and Rofan mountains in the centre of Tirol. Cross country skiing in the Achensee region is a popular area and boasts more than 200 kilometres of groomed cross-country ski trails. The terrain is gently undulating along the shoreline and more challenging in the Karwendel valleys. There is 200K of cross country skiing in Achensee which spread over different locations, with a good local ski bus network to connect all areas, providing enough skiing for a week.
